Parliamentary Standing Committee’s visit to Dr. SP Mookerjee Swimming Pool Complex

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resource Development visited Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Swimming Complex on 24th Aug 2017 to see the existing sports facilities in the complex.

During their visit the Committee interacted with the SGTIDM swimmers and asked them about the facilities being available to them.

The Committee also enquired about the infrastructure and the Honorable Members of Parliament (both houses) provided their valuable suggestions for uplifting swimming sport in India.

Also, the Honorable MPs appreciated Glenmark Aquatic Foundation for their valuable contribution in swimming across the country and  agreed with the fact that more such Public Private Partnerships are required for encouraging sports in India.

Swadesh Mondal picks up Individual Championships as SGTIDM Swimmers excel

Swadesh Mondal was adjudged the best swimmer in the Boys Group II category in the 44th Glenmark Junior National Aquatic Championship. The Swimmers from SGTIDM performed exceedingly well at the event. Swadesh, Anubhuti,Annie,Uttara,Astha,Firdoush,Tanisha,Veer,Kushagra and Bhargav raked in Individual medals while Army Pal and Aryan Vernekar won medals in the relay. Swadesh also picked up a medal in the relay.

In the 34th Glenmark Sub- Junior National Aquatic Championship Surabin Reang won 2 medals while Ansu Kar picked up a medal in the relay
